Sasha Scolnik-Brower
Conductor Sasha Scolnik-Brower has been praised for his “musical instinct, stylistic confidence, and precise craftsmanship” (Süddeutsche Zeitung). Currently completing his term as the Bernard Haitink Conducting Fellow of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, he recently stepped in for Sir Simon Rattle to lead the Prizewinners’ Concert of the 2025 ARD Competition.
Alongside his work with the BRSO, Scolnik-Brower has recently made debuts with the London Symphony Orchestra, Luxembourg Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, Belgian National Orchestra, Staatsoper Hamburg (Die Fledermaus), Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris, National Symphony Orchestra (USA), and the Residentie Orkest in collaboration with the Dutch National Opera Academy (Il ritorno d’Ulisse). Highlights of the 2026-2027 season include debuts with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Noord Nederlands Orkest, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, and Deutsche Philharmonie Merck.
Other notable performances include Rossini’s La scala di seta at the Bredeweg Festival in Amsterdam; a collaboration with Jennifer Koh and students of The Juilliard School at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.; Pierrot Lunaire at the Ukrainian Institute of America in New York City; and a tour with the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra performing Mahler’s Symphony No. 6.
Scolnik-Brower is a graduate of The Juilliard School and the Dutch National Master’s in Orchestral Conducting. He was a conducting fellow at the Aspen Music Festival where he was awarded the Robert Spano Conducting Prize. He previously studied English and Music at Harvard University.
