Piero Pretti
Piero Pretti is one of the most acclaimed Italian tenors of his generation, performing in the world's most important opera houses. He began his career in 2006 with a European tour in the role of Rodolfo in La bohème, quickly gaining the attention of audiences and critics alike thanks to notable performances as Alfredo in La traviata and Manrico in Il trovatore under the baton of Riccardo Muti. The two-year period 2011–2012 marked a decisive turning point in his career, with performances at the Teatro Regio in Turin, La Scala and the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, followed by important international debuts.
Since then, Pretti has sung on the stages of La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera House, the Wiener Staatsoper, the Royal Opera House, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Opéra national de Paris, the Teatro Real and the Arena di Verona, performing leading roles in Rigoletto, Madama Butterfly, Un ballo in maschera and Il trovatore.
His recent and upcoming engagements include La traviata at La Scala, Il trovatore at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl and the Opéra de Montecarlo, I masnadieri at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Turandot at the Atlanta Opera, Nabucco and Un ballo in maschera at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Aida at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville and La bohème at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
