Eduardo Niave, Mexican tenor from Torreón, is the winner of the Mexico District of Laffont Competition of the Metropolitan Opera NY. He is currently taking part in the 4th Edition of the Fabbrica YAP of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.

Having studied at the Faculty of Music of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León and at La Salle Laguna University, he has appeared on the stages of Teatro dell’Opera di Roma (Italy), Tokyo Bunka Kaikan (Japan), Teatro Filarmonico di Verona (Italy), Opéra Orchestre National de Montpellier (France) and other important opera theaters around the world.

Eduardo debuted in 2023 at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma in Puccini’s “Il Tabarro” as Un amante, Spirit tenor in Shumann’s “Manfred”, Yamadori in “Madama Butterfly”, Gastone in “La Traviata”, 4th Jude in “Salome” and Le Prince Charmant in “Viardot’s Cendrillon”. Moreover, he also debuted in the roles of Rodolfo in “La Bohéme” in 2021 and Mario Cavaradossi in “Tosca” in 2022 (Mexico). Eduardo has worked with conductors such as Michele Mariotti, Roberto Abbado, Sieva Borzak, Dmitry Matvienko, Marc Albrecht, Carlo Donadio, Enrique Patron de Rueda, etc., and with Directors Sofia Coppola, Barrie Kosky, Johannes Erath, La Fura dels Baus, Cesare Scarton, among others.

Mr Niave has participated in the Caracalla Festival in “Vissi d’arte, vissi d”amore” in Rome, Italy and at the inauguration of the “Festival de Muzicã Clasicã descOperã” in Moldova.
