After studying piano, organ and composition, he graduated with honours and distinction in Orchestral Conducting from the Conservatory of Florence, and in Choral Music and Choir Conducting from the Conservatory of Ferrara. at the same time, he graduated in Music Disciplines at the University of Bologna, and finally perfected his skills at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and, for conducting technique and interpretative style, with Francesco Lanzillotta and Bruno Taddia. Active in both symphonic and operatic fields, he has conducted ensembles such as the Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano e Trento, the Orchestra i Pomeriggi musicali and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano, the “G. Rossini” Symphony Orchestra of Pesaro and Fano, the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra, the Marchigiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, with a repertoire ranging from Viennese classicism to 19th-century opera, and from Rimsky-Korsakov and Debussy to the avant-garde of the third millennium.

His operatic successes include Bizet's Carmen at the Macerata Opera Festival (2019), Rossini's La Cenerentola in the AsLiCo circuit (2022), Verdi's La traviata at Opera Lombardia and Rete lirica delle Marche (2022-2023), Verdi's Aida at the Teatro Sociale in Como and Rossini's Adelaide di Borgogna at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro (2023), and Lauro Rossi's I falsi monetari at the “Il belcanto ritrovato” Festival in Pesaro-Fano.

Among his recent engagements is the acclaimed rediscovery of Stanislao Mattei's Passione di Gesù Cristo signor nostro – the once famous oratorio in which the young Rossini made his debut as a singer – as a special project of the Bologna Festival. His upcoming engagements include today's premiere of Giovanni Pacini's Amazilia – a great forgotten masterpiece – at the Festival “Il belcanto ritrovato”, Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore in the Opera Lombardia circuit, his concert debut at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Arena di Verona, as well as the world premiere of the new opera Cronaca di un amore. Callas e Pasolini, with music by Davide Tramontano, libretto by Alberto Mattioli and directed by Davide Livermore, at the Teatro Municipale in Piacenza.
