Désirée Giove
Désirée Giove, born in 1999, made her debut at the Teatro alla Scala at the age of just twenty-four in the role of Anaide in Il cappello di paglia di Firenze, conducted by Donato Renzetti.
She subsequently returned to the La Scala stage as the Contessa di Ceprano in Rigoletto under the baton of maestro Marco Armiliato, as well as being Julie Fuchs' cover in the role of Marie in La fille du régiment, conducted by maestro Evelino Pidò. In 2023, she obtained her second level academic diploma in singing at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, achieving a grade of 110/110 with honours and special mention. In the same year, she joined the Accademia di Canto Lirico del Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, where she perfected her repertoire under the guidance of maestro Mariella Devia.
She made her debut at the Neapolitan theatre in significant roles such as Micaëla in Bizet's Carmen, conducted by maestro Dan Ettinger, Una Voce dal Cielo in Don Carlo, conducted by maestro Henrik Nánási, and Carolina in Il matrimonio segreto, conducted by maestro Francesco Corti.
Her artistic career continues in Naples with her debut as Glauce in Cherubini's Medea for the season opening, conducted by Maestro Riccardo Frizza. With the same conductor, she will also perform Persephone in Ennio Morricone's Partenope and a Priestess in Aida. She will also be Sophie in Werther with maestro Lorenzo Passerini and Nannetta in Falstaff, both at the Teatro di San Carlo under the direction of maestro Marco Armiliato and at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari with maestro Vincenzo Milletari.
She will make her debut as Valletto in L'incoronazione di Poppea at the Drottningholms Slottsteater in Stockholm.
