With degrees in organ and orchestral conducting, Jacopo Brusa is considered one of the most interesting conductors of his generation. Since his debut, national and international critics have described him as ‘a pleasant discovery’ and his conducting as “impeccable”, ‘lively and well-balanced’, and ‘with a remarkable theatrical sense’.

He has had many significant engagements in recent seasons, collaborating in both opera and symphonic music with Italian and foreign ensembles such as the Orchestra and Chorus of the Arena di Verona, the Real Orquesta Sinfonica de Sevilla, the Milan Symphony Orchestra, the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Carlo Felice Theatre in Genoa, the Orchestra and Choir of the G. Verdi Theatre in Trieste, the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic Orchestra in Parma, I Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan, the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra, the CRR Symphony Orchestra of Istanbul, the Virtuosi Brunenses Orchestra of Brno and the G. Rossini Symphony Orchestra of Pesaro. He has also been a guest at important theatres and festivals such as the Fondazione Arena di Verona, the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, the Bulgaria Hall, the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, the Macerata Opera Festival, the “Rossini in Wildbad” Belcanto Opera Festival, the Fondazione Donizetti in Bergamo, the Teatro Fraschini in Pavia, the Teatro Sociale in Como, the Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona, the Teatro Grande in Brescia, the Teatro Municipale in Piacenza, the Teatro dell'Opera Giocosa in Savona, the Ente Concerti ‘Marialisa de Carolis’ in Sassari and the ‘Lerici Music Festival’.

Jacopo Brusa made his debut to public and critical acclaim in the following operas: Turandot, Madama Butterfly and Gianni Schicchi by G. Puccini; Don Carlo, Il trovatore and La traviata by G. Verdi; Guglielmo Tell, La Cenerentola, L'inganno felice and La cambiale di matrimonio by G. Rossini; Carmen by G. Bizet; Così fan tutte and The Magic Flute by W. A. Mozart; Le maschere by P. Mascagni; Nozze Istriane by A. Smareglia; La serva padrona by G. B. Pergolesi; Ein Walzertraum by O. Straus and Il Sordo, a contemporary opera with libretto by Leo Nucci.

Two iconic titles from the opera repertoire will debut in autumn 2025: Il barbiere di Siviglia by G. Rossini and Don Quichotte by J. Massenet.

He has recorded for the national television networks Rai 3, Rai 5 and Radio Tre Rai.
