Born in Darmós (Tarragona, Spain), Sara Blanch is one of the most outstanding sopranos of her generation, recognized for her mastery of bel canto and her luminous expressive ability. She began her artistic training in dance, piano and choral singing, and started her vocal studies at the age of 14. At 16 she made her debut at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya and later graduated in Voice and Performance at the Conservatori del Liceu.

Her operatic debut came in 2013 at the Rossini Opera Festival, performing the role of Folleville (Il viaggio a Reims). After gaining recognition in several competitions—most notably the “Concurs Internacional de Cant Montserrat Caballé” (2014), the “Josep Mirabent i Magrans de Sitges” (2015), and the “Tenor Viñas” competition (2016), where she received eight awards—her career has taken her to renowned theatres and festivals such as the Gran Teatro del Liceu (Barcelona), Teatro Real (Madrid), Teatro de la Zarzuela (Madrid), Teatro Campoamor (Oviedo), Teatro Regio di Torino (Italy), Teatro Verdi (Salerno, Italy), Teatro de la Maestranza (Sevilla), Palau de la Música (Barcelona), Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre (Perm, Russia), Festival Castell de Peralada (Peralada), Músicas en Fête (Théâtre Antique de Orange, France), Fauteuils d’Orquestre (Paris, France), and Rossini in Wildbad (Bad Wildbad, Germany), among others.

A particularly significant milestone in her recent trajectory was the 2024–2025 season, which confirmed Sara Blanch as a leading figure in European opera, with performances on major stages such as the Salzburg Festival, Opéra de Lyon, Wiener Staatsoper, and Teatro Regio di Torino. She also made her debut at La Scala in Orontea by Antonio Cesti.

She has performed more than 44 operatic roles, including Norina (Don Pasquale), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Matilde (Matilde di Shabran), Fiorilla (Il turco in Italia), Anne (The Rake’s Progress), Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos), the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), and Adèle (Le comte Ory). Her operatic activity is complemented by an intense concert schedule encompassing oratorio, art song and recital.

In the 2025–2026 season she reached several major milestones in her career, making her debut at the Opéra national de Paris (Oscar in Un ballo in maschera) and at the Royal Opera House (Marie in La fille du régiment), as well as starring in Pelléas et Mélisande at La Scala.

The 2026–2027 season places Sara Blanch at the forefront of the international opera scene. Her engagements include a return to Teatro alla Scala with La bohème, to the Teatro Real as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, to the Gran Teatre del Liceu as Musetta in La bohème and as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, as well as her role debut as Gilda in Rigoletto in Munich and a return to the Wiener Staatsoper as Fiakermilli in Arabella, among other projects.
