Andrea Borghini

Andrea Borghini was born in Siena, he has his first musical experiences with Madrigalisti Senesi chorus, then he studies piano and violoncello at Istituto di Musica R. Franci in Siena, right before deciding to focus on singing with Angelo Bertacchi, Bruno Rigacci, Francesco Facini.

Finalist at many opera Competitions, in 2012 he debuts Figaro in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia and he’s the solo baritone in Carmina Burana at San Galgano and San Gimignano’s Opera Festival.

From September2012 he’s member of Bayerische Staatsoper’s Junge ensemble, where he performs Schaunard in La Bohème, Marullo in Rigoletto, Hermann in Les contes d’Hoffmann, Le Geolier in Les Dialogues des Carmelites, Ascanio Petrucci in Lucrezia Borgia, Morales in Carmen, Fiorello in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Lorenzo in Capuleti e Montecchi.

He collaborates with Kent Nagano, Asher Fisch, Paolo Carignani, Paolo Arrivabeni, Yves Abel, Zubin Mehta.

He performs several times at Munich’s Cuvilliès theater in concert with Joseph Calleja, Kristine Opolais, Jonas Kaufmann, Ludovic Tézier, Nadia Krasteva

In May 2014 he makes his debut at Opéra Bastille in Paris, as Lorenzo in Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi, under the baton of Bruno Campanella. In September 2014 sings Silvio at Stadttheater of Klagenfurt in a new production of Pagliacci.

Among his recent and future engagements Boito’s Mefistofele conducted by Omer Welber, Unballo in maschera with Zubin Mehta, Ruggiero in Halévy’s La Juive, Ping in Turandot, Schaunard in La bohème, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Roucher in Andrea Chenier, Sulpice in Fille du Régiment in Trieste, the debut in Rigoletto at Ravenna Festival, the main role in Lo schiavo in Cagliari where he will be back for La bohème as Marcello and Amonasro in Aida, Guillaume Tell at Festspiele in Erl and again Amonasro in Aida at Festival Verdi in Busseto. Germont in La Traviata, Le Villi e Silvio in Pagliacci in Cagliari, Il piccolo Marat at Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Madama Butterfly in Tokyo, Roberto Devereux at teatro Massimo in Palermo, Germont in  ,Traviata in the Circuito Lirico Marchigiano, the debut as Ford in Falstaff at Festival Verdi in Parma.
