Giulio Mastrototaro, born in Riva del Garda (Italy).

He won the As.Li.Co. competition for the role of Belcore in L'Elisir d'Amore and the "Best Performer" award for Donizetti's Pietro il Grande (recorded be Dynamic) at the Martina Franca Festival.

Most recently he sang the title role of Don Checco, L’Inganno Felice at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; L'Italiana in Algeri in Treviso and  Ferrara and as Taddeo in Massy; La pietra del paragone (Pacuvio), Tosca  (sagrestano), L'Elisir d'amore (Dulcamara), Cenerentola (Don Magnifico) in Cagliari; Il Turco in Italia in Warsaw; La Cenerentola (Don Magnifico) in Leipzig; L'Equivoco stravagante (Gamberotto) at the Rossini in Wildbad; Un Giorno di Regno (Kelbar) at the Teatro Regio in Parma; Matilde di Shabran and Meyerbeer’s Romilda e Costanza at the Rossini Festival in Bad  Wildbad; Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Vigo; Turandot at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago; Tosca at the Salzburg Festival with Zubin Metha.

He participated also at the new production of Puccini's Tosca opening night at La Scala where he returned for Il Turco in Italia (Don Geronio), L'Italiana in Algeri and L'Elisir d’amore (Dulcamara) with huge success of  critic and audience, while at the  Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino in Florence he starred in Tosca and in Lo sposo di tre marito di nessuna, L'Elisir d'amore in Duisburg; Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Bartolo), Elisir d’Amore (Dulcamara) and La Cenerentola (Don  Magnifico) in Stuttgart; Tosca and Turandot at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago; Andrea Chenier at La Scala, Le Nozze di Figaro in the title role at Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Il Turco in Italia (Don Geronio) in Martina Franca and in Lausanne, Tosca (Sagrestano) at Arena di Verona and the Dubut  s Dulcamara (L’ Elisir d’Amore) with huge success at the Royal Opera House,  Covent Garden.

Future commitments include: Il barbiere di Siviglia in Duisburg, Il turco in Italia in Rovigo, La Cenerentola in Athens and L’italiana in Algeri in Cagliari.

He recorded several CD productions for Dynamic (Giordano's Siberia; Donizetti's Pietro il Grande; and Cherubini's Lo sposo di tre, marito di nessuna); Naxos (Rossini's La cambiale di matrimonio, Matilde di Shabran, La Gazzetta and L'Italiana in Algeri with Alberto Zedda; and Pacini's Don Giovanni, Meyerbeer Romilda e Costanza); and Sony/RCA (Donizetti's Adelia).

He also participated in the DVD  production of Rossini's La Cambiale di Matrimonio, Il Turco in Italia for Bongiovanni, L’Equivoco Stravagante for Naxos and Andrea Chenier for Major.
