Born in Bergamo in 1975, he soon established himself as one of the most interesting artists of his generation, collaborating with conductors such as Abbado, Pappano, Chung, Nagano, Gatti, Biondi, Chailly, Mariotti and directors such as Mussbach, Guth, Vick, Michieletto, Alden, Pelly and Pizzi. He regularly performs in the most prestigious musical institutions, including La Scala, Fenice, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Royal Opera House in London, Teatro Real in Madrid, Opéra National in Paris. Recent engagements include "L'elisir d'amore", "Don Giovanni”, "Le nozze di Figaro",  ,"Les contes d'Hoffmann", "Il turco in Italia", and "Macbeth" at the Bayerische Staatsoper, "La damnation de Faust" at the Rome Opera, again "Les contes d'Hoffmann" and "Mosè in Egitto" at the San Carlo in Naples, "Faust", “Les contes d’Hoffmann” and "Don Quichotte" at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, "Macbeth" in Macerata, "Semiramide" at the Bayerische Staatsoper and La Fenice, "Il turco in Italia" "Don Giovanni" and Rossini's "Stabat Mater" at La Scala, his debut as Philip II in "Don Carlo" at La Fenice in Venice later revived at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, "Die Zauberflöte" and "Il barbiere di Siviglia" at the Opéra de Paris and in Rome, "Anna Bolena" at the Rome Opera and the Grand Théâtre de Genève, "Faust" at La Fenice in Venice, “L’aio nell’imbarazzo” at the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo, “Anna Bolena” and "Les contes d'Hoffmann" at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, “Moïse et Pharaon” in Lyon, “Der Freischütz” at the Theater An der Wien and he debuted at the Metropolitan in New York with “L’elisir d’amore”.

Alex Esposito was awarded, as Best Singer of 2006, the 2007 "Franco Abbiati" Prize of Italian music critics and in September 2020 the title of Kammersänger of the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich.
