Sieva Borzak

Sieva Borzak, born in Rome (Italy) in 1997, is an Italian-Russian ,conductor. He has studied opera singing with Toomas Kaldaru, Piano with Annie Corrado, Composition with Claudio Perugini and Mauro Cardi. He has begun his  ,studies in conducting with Simone Genuini, continuing later with Bruno Aprea, Francesco Lanzillotta, Daniele Agiman, Marco Zuccarini, Fabrizio Ventura, Konrad Von Abel. Currently he is finishing a Master’s Degree in conducting at the ,“Conservatorio Alfredo Casella” (L’Aquila, Italy), under the guidance of Marcello Bufalini and he is Assistant Conductor of Francesco Lanzillotta.

Starting from 2021 he is the new Conductor in Residence of Roma Tre Orchestra.

In 2018 he founded the Orchestra “Le Metamorfosi”, a Roman ensemble with which he has achieved great success in the territories of Lazio and Tuscany. Starting from 2018 he became the Artistic Director of “Il Giardino della Musica” Chamber Music Festival, in Arezzo (Tuscany). He also ,holds the role of Principal Conductor of the UBCM Chamber Orchestra, in Rome.

He has conducted various orchestras, including Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, I Musici di Parma, Orchestra da Camera del “Giovanni  ,Paisiello Festival”, Roma Sinfonietta, Roma Tre Orchestra, Ensemble Testori, Romae Philharmonia Orchestra, Camerata Classica, Orchestra “Le Metamorfosi”, UCBM Chamber Orchestra.

He has conducted in numerous Opera Houses, such as Sferisterio (Macerata), Teatro Marrucino (Chieti), Teatro Flavio Vespasiano (Rieti), Teatro Comunale (L’Aquila), Teatro Palladium (Rome), Teatro Torlonia (Rome), Teatro Fenaroli (Lanciano), Teatro Apollo (Mogliano).

In September 2019, at the age of 22, he made his operatic debut at the Giovanni Paisiello Festival, with La Finta Amante, first ever performance ,in modern times of Paisiello’s opera buffa. He has collaborated as Assistant Conductor at the  ,Macerata Opera Festival 2020, with Don Giovanni, directed by  ,Davide Livermore. In October 2020 he has conducted the Roma Tre Orchestra, at Teatro Palladium (Rome), in a Gala focused entirely on Richard Wagner’s Tannhäuser and Parsifal. He is the protagonist of the Mozart Project, focused on the streaming recording of the entire cycle of Mozart’s Piano Concertos, with the Roma Tre Orchestra. Together with the saxophonist Jacopo Taddei, he is the protagonist of the album “Russian Elegy”, produced by Roma Tre Orchestra (music by Tchaikovsky, Borodin and Glazunov). In 2021 he worked as Assistant Conductor of M° Paolo Bortolameolli, with La ,Traviata, at the Macerata Opera Festival 2021. In the same year he brought the Roma Tre Orchestra on tour, at the “Le Altre Note” Festival, with  ,Eine Alpensonfnie by Richard Strauss. With the same orchestra he has conducted music by Mozart, Liszt, Copland and Mahler, in Rome, Chieti, Rieti, Albano and other cities of central Italy. In 2022 he has conducted the New Year’s Concert, music by Gershwin, Dukas, Debussy and Tchaikovsky, with the Roma Tre Orchestra. He recently has accompanied great soloists such as Giovanni Sollima, Anton Spronk and Aubree Oliverson.

In september 2022 he will conduct Così fan tutte, as inauguration of the 2022/23 season of the Roma Tre Orchestra, in collaboration with the Concorso Lirico “Ottavio Ziino”. He will be Assistant Conductor at the “Hvorostovsy” Festival (Tosca). In 2023 he will be Assistant Conductor at the Theatre La Monnaie, Bruxelles (Bastarda, a project based on Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda, Roberto Devereux, Elisabetta al castello di Kenilworth).
