Born in Astrakhan (Russia), the Norwegian mezzo-soprano Lilly Jørsyad starts singing as child, enrolls at 16 at the Astrakhan Conservatory and mooves later on to Norway.
After winning several prizes and participating to many Festivals, Lilly joins in Summer 2012 the Academia Rossiniana in Pesaro where she debuts Melibea in Il viaggio a Reims conducted by Alberto Zedda. In the same year she’s soloist at the Mariinsky Academy in St.Petersburg.
She joins then La Scala Academy, where she has the chance to perform Angelina in La cenerentola production for children and to sing in concerts under the baton of Zubin Mehta, Stefano Ranzani, Nayer Nagui in Milan, Abu Dhabi and in Egypt. Her debut in La Scala official Season is in Autumn 2015 as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia conducted by Massimo Zanetti in the historical Jean-Pierre Ponnelle production, partner of Leo Nucci as Figaro and Ruggero Raimondi as Don Basilio.
Among her recent and future engagements, Rosina in Barbiere at the Wiener and at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro Argentina in Rome and at the Oper Bergen, Siebel in Faust at Opernhaus Zürich, Meg in Falstaff in the Mehta/McVicar new production in Vienna and Pecking, IX Symphony in Milan and Granada with the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli Orchestra and in Taormina with the Teatro Massimo di Palermo orchestra, again with Zubin Mehta, under whom she also sung Bruckner’s Te Deum at Opera di Firenze, Smeton in Anna Bolena in Lisboa, Cenerentola in Stuttgart, La morte de Cleopatre in Tokyo under Paolo Carignani, Mozart’s Requiem at the Concertgebouw under Makus Stentz, the debut in the titlerole in Tancredi at Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro in Hamburg, Sara in Roberto Devereux at La Fenice and two new creations at Theatre la Monnaie with revivals in other important Houses: Dusapin’s Macbeth and Kris Defoort’s The Time of Our Singing. She will debut soon also in the role of Sara in Roberto Devereux at La Fenice in Venice and she will be Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia at Den Norske Opera for the New Season Opening.
