Lilly Jørsyad is a Norwegian mezzo-soprano born in Astrakhan, Russia.
She starts singing folk music at the age of 4 and at the age of 16 she enrolls at the Astrakhan Conservatory.
Winner of several prizes, she starts her Master Degree studies at the University of Tromsø in 2010 with Anne-Lise Sollied Allemano and Carlo Allemano. She partecipates in master classes with such singers as Luciana Serra, Luciana D’Intino, Renato Bruson, Leo Nucci, Ruggero Raimondi.
Lilly Jørsyad participates to numerous festivals as: Kirsten Flagstad Fetsival, International Shalyapi Opera Festival, Rossini Opera Festival for young singers, Barents Festival, Pomorfestival, Tromsø opera festival, Oslo opera Festival, International Church Festival in Tromsø and Nordlysfestivalen. She is also an oratorio singer and performing in the major churches in Norway, including the Ishavskatedralen in Tromsø.
In 2012, she joins the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro, and she debuts in two Rossini’s roles from Il viaggio a Reims (Marchesa Melibea and Modestina) under the baton of Alberto Zedda.
She attends the Master Degree studies at Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini with Gianni Fabbrini in 2013 and later on she wins a role in the next Cenerentola production at Città di Ferrara Competition debuting at Teatro Comunale in Ferrara as Angelina in Rossini’s La Cenerentola in 2014. She wins the III Prize at Giacinto Prandelli Competition and she sings Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia under the baton of Mauro Perissinotto in Ferrara.
She joins La Scala Academy, where she has the chance to perform Angelina again in a La Cenerentola production for children; at the same time she also perfomorms in concerts under the baton of Zubin Mehta, Stefano Ranzani, Giuseppe Finzi, Nayer Nagui, Pietro Mianiti in Milan, Abu Dhabi and in Egypt.
She made her debut at La Scala in 2015 singing Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia under the baton of Massimo Zanetti in the historical Jean-Pierre Ponnelle production, on stage with Leo Nucci as Figaro and Ruggero Raimondi as Don Basilio and she sang Smeton in Anna Bolena at Teatro Nacional de Sao Carlos in Lisboa.
Among her recent and future engagements Rosina at Teatro Argentina in Rome, again Angelina at la Scala, Concerts in Norway, Rosina in Bergen, Siebel in Faust at the Opernhaus in Zürich, Rosina at the Wiener Staatsoper, Meg in a Falstaff new production in Vienna under Zubin Mehta with whom she will sing also the IX Symphony in Milan, in Granada and Taormina with the San Carlo Orchestra and Bruckner’s Te Deum in Florence, Cenerentola in Stuttgart, Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Mozart Requiem in Amsterdam.
Recently she won the First Prize at Portofino Competition in Italy and she has been chosen for the final round at BBC Competition Best Singer of the World representing Norway
